RE: Oscars 2021
Even though we're not even 100% sure there's gonna be an Oscar show next year, Poland has announced their Best International Feature Film entry next year.

RE: Oscars 2021
The Academy institutes inclusivity as an eligibility requirement.
It won't take affect till the 96th Oscars but what's everyone's thoughts on this? |

RE: Oscars 2021
Most movies already meet criteria B and D so I don't think it will make much of a difference at all.

RE: Oscars 2021
Chloe Zhao’s Nomandland was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. The Rider was my favorite film from 2018 and I am super excited for this one. Tickets are still available for the virtual screening at the New York Film Festival on September 26th. I have my ticket and cannot wait!

I think it will push through. I mean, the Tony Awards managed to find a way to have a ceremony this year, the Oscars sure as heck will. Even if it's gonna be a semi-virtual ceremony with mostly streaming films competing. The Academy will surely be watching the Emmys next week to see how they would pull it off and follow suit. Since the Oscars will be in the end of April next year, I think it would safe-ish enough to have at least the nominees in the theater with masks and proper social distancing. One thing's for sure: The Oscars will actually need a host next year. |
