Oscars 2021 - malcolm1980 - 03-10-2020 09:53 PM "Loyal Brave True" from the live-action remake of Mulan. First Original Song Oscar contender? RE: Oscars 2021 - teppo2 - 03-11-2020 01:25 AM I hope not. Yuck. RE: Oscars 2021 - emmygrammyoscartony - 03-11-2020 08:26 AM Is Ben Affleck a serious contender for "The Way Back"? I have not read reviews, but this sounds like the perfect vehicle for a "bounce back" narrative. RE: Oscars 2021 - Above the Title - 03-14-2020 01:25 AM No movie will be a hit right now. Nobody is going to the cinema. It's unclear when the next big movie opening will even be. RE: Oscars 2021 - misplaced validity - 03-14-2020 02:05 AM (03-14-2020 01:25 AM)Above the Title Wrote: No movie will be a hit right now. Nobody is going to the cinema. It's unclear when the next big movie opening will even be. Yeah, as of this week movies have started to be canceled and such. Affleck's movie was new last weekend before this virus had blown up in the U.S. and it was #3 for the weekend with under $10 million made. RE: Oscars 2021 - Above the Title - 03-14-2020 03:25 AM I think cinemas will/should be closed across the country. Movie-wise, it will be a different year for sure. RE: Oscars 2021 - malcolm1980 - 03-14-2020 11:18 AM I was thinking about this as well. Cannes is likely to be canceled if things don't drastically change within the next few weeks. If things, God forbid, get REALLY bad, the fall festivals could follow suit. With films that are being shot now being delayed, major film releases getting postponed and theaters all around the world temporarily out of business, I can't help but wonder how big of an impact this will have for the Oscar race next year. Will Netflix finally sweep? RE: Oscars 2021 - Culturegeek - 03-14-2020 11:32 AM (03-14-2020 11:18 AM)malcolm1980 Wrote: I was thinking about this as well. Or they'll cancel the oscars. |
